Tasked with creating a new identity for this iconic area, we knew this wasn’t just about designing a logo. It was about telling a story - one that celebrates individuality, welcomes diversity and shines a light on a place that’s always been proud to do things its own way.










Now internationally recognised as a World Craft City, The Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham is gaining global attention - but its true strength lies in its local character. This is a place where craftsmanship endures, businesses thrive and uniqueness defines every street. The new brand needed to express all of that, while creating a platform that locals could be proud of and visitors could connect with instantly.
Working closely with the JQBID team, we developed a brand identity rooted in the area’s DNA. A confident logomark takes inspiration from historic ghost signs, while a bespoke typeface, made right here in Birmingham, nods to the area’s pen-making legacy. Echoing the pen strokes of the logo, a simple flowing line symbolises The Jewellery Quarter’s ongoing story - connecting past, present and future as well as people, place and the dynamic spirit of the area.
At its heart is the promise where individuality shines - a celebration of the people who shape this distinctive place. It’s a brand designed to unite the community, spark pride, and invite the world to experience the creativity, craftsmanship and spirit that makes The Jewellery Quarter truly one of a kind.
